In our continuing commitment to offer convenient ways to access information on important issues, the LWVPBC is cosponsoring a series of meetings with the municipalities in Palm Beach County. These meetings will be free of charge and open to members and the public. They will offer a variety of subjects such as:

As a child of seven, Copeland’s fascination with music began while watching a pianist on TV. He blocked out everything that was going on except that pianist. He remembers thinking that “if someone could only show me, I could learn to do that.” Thus began his education with the piano. This also set in motion his roots in gospel, which he achieved
from playing in church for thirteen years. This would eventually tie together with classical training to create his unique style as a jazz innovator. His ultimate influence would become Beethoven, who used the piano as an instrument to imitate the complete orchestra. Palm Beach will be the 15th  Solar Co-Op in Florida.  The League of Women Voters in Florida is organizing these Solar Co-Ops.  Solar Co-Ops have been formed in 10 counties (some counties having several) of Florida.

Florida Solar United Neighborhoods (FLSUN) is a non-profit that educates Floridians about the benefits of solar energy and helps organize group solar installations – solar cooperatives.  FLSUN makes solar easy, understandable and affordable by holding public information sessions. Here is how the FLSUN Solar Cooperative works:

Our Palm Beach County League will host its annual fund raising luncheon at 1:00 p.m. at the Atlantis Country Club on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Entertainment will be provided by jazz pianist Copeland Davis who earned an standing ovation when he made his debut on the Tonight Show, hosted an Emmy Award-winning special on PBS and was inducted into the International Who’s Who of Music and the Las Vegas Entertainers Hall of Fame in 2014.
