Perspectives from Barbara Pariente
Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Florida


Justice Pariente will give a presentation about the current issues in Florida and Federal courts, with a focus on cases that involve voting rights and principles of democracy.


Biography:
Justice Pariente’s legal and judicial career has spanned 50 years. She retired from the Florida Supreme Court in 2019, ending a 21 year career as a Supreme Court Justice. She has been a Floridian since 1973 when after law school graduation she clerked for a federal district court judge.

Directions to the Fountains Country Club:
Enter the Fountains Country Club from Lake Worth Rd, one traffic light west of Jog Rd. After the guard gate, the Club House is on your right at the large bronze and gold sign. Park at any available space.

-The gate at Melaleuca Ln and Jog Rd is for residents only. If your GPS takes you there, continue North on Jog Rd and turn left at Lake Worth Rd.

-If your GPS takes you to the Jog Rd entrance North of Lantana Rd, you can enter there, but it is easier if you continue North on Jog Rd and turn left at Lake Worth Rd. Then turn left at the 1st traffic light.

• Refunds or account credits are available for cancellations received before the registration deadline.
• Because counts are guaranteed to the venue, no refunds or credits are available after the registration deadline.
• After the registration deadline, registrants who notify LWVPBC of their cancellation may, at that time:
  - Provide the name of a specific individual eligible for the same or lower registration price to whom the registration will be transferred at no additional charge; otherwise,
  - LWVPBC may resell the seat.
Notice of cancellation may be sent to info@lwvpbc.com or to the event contact(s).

Photographs will be taken at events for use on the League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County website, marketing materials, "the Voter" Newsletter, and in the press. By attending an event you consent to being photographed and your image and likeness being used by the League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County.
