Do Indigent Defendants Get Equal Justice?
Daniel Eisinger - Palm Beach County Public Defender
-Do indigent defendants have to plea bargain more than others?
-Does one plea bargain set the stage for others?
-What does justice look like for indigent defendants?
These are just some of the questions that will be addressed by Public Defender Daniel Eisinger.
Daniel grew up in Palm Beach County. He began his career in the Public Defender office in December 2003. The office represents indigent clients who do not have the ability to afford a private attorney. Dan has been directly involved in misdemeanor, felony, and major crime cases — including capital cases in which the state was seeking the death penalty.
He has been instrumental in establishing court programs to better serve clients and the community — the Misdemeanor Mental Health Court to connect low-level offenders suffering from mental illness with mental health professionals and the Driving Under Suspension Court. These courts have resulted in making our communities safer while benefiting clients at the same time.
