The LWV PBC is happy to be involved in PBC school programs and activities.  On February 16th at Park Vista High School, members of the Civics Education Committee team, including Phyllis Goldenberg, Christene Campbell-Gabor, Cindy Sheehan-Hartwell and LWVPBC Intern Faith Maniti, volunteered to judge 185 students from 15 different middle school and high schools in Palm Beach County for National History Day. What an exceptional event it was!  The projects were fascinating and the students did an amazing job preparing and presenting their projects.

Projects were based on this year’s theme “Conflict and Compromise.” Students had an opportunity to display their knowledge through any one of the following: historical paper, documentary, exhibit, performance, or website.  Eighteen students from this year’s event will advance to the state competition in Tallahassee during the first week of May.

Coming soon…opportunities to volunteer for the Government Bee.  Stay posted for more information.
