  • January 2018 is Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month. The number of children and youth victims in Palm Beach County is growing. All people are urged to be aware and report any suspicious activities to the National Human Trafficking Hotline.

  • GL Homes has donated $10,000.00 to John F. Kennedy Middle School in Riviera Beach. The funds will be used to provide academic and cultural opportunities for students in the after school program.

  • The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County recently awarded $1000.00 scholarships to students in grades 2-4 who will receive this money plus interest when they enter college. These students were recommended by their teachers as children who have the ability and drive to succeed. Many are from families that are not native English-speakers and all winners will be the first in their families to attend college.

  • A bill has been passed to limit school board members’ terms to no more than eight consecutive years. This is retroactive to 2014.
